Music Videos.

Option 2.
Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
Uptown funk is a pop song, and is made to look and sound like an old pop song of the late 20th early 21st century just like Michael Jackson's songs. The target audience is fairly old, possibly fans of Michael Jackson and pop, at least 20 years old, though this is not always the case and could be any gender. Probably class C1 to E.
The camera angles are usually eye level to low angle shots and usually close up shots of Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson, either on a dolly from one person to another or backing away from the close up to a medium or long shot.
It sold a million copies in only ten weeks.

Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" attracts and represents its target audience (15-30 year old African-American/Caucasian C1 - E men) with the diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Firstly, young males are represented with the stereotype that women are used as "erotic objects of desire for males" (Mulvey, 1975) and that young males want excitement “Youth must have excitement and if this is not at hand in the form of moral intellectual enthusiasms it is more prone to be sought in; sex, drink or drugs.” (Hall, 1904). One of the lyrics are "Them good girls straight masterpieces" which clearly represents the women being sexual objects of desire for the males. To further that, the line "I'm too hot" repeated numerous times in the song represents the stereotype that  ‘Males are now shown as sexual objects of desire who are more concerned with image,’ (Mackillon, 2002), and that Bruno is very aware of his appearance.

The non-diegetic sounds such as the music also represent the target audience as pop is really catchy and popular with youth, it's upbeat and fast which is what the target audience enjoys and listen to.

If I were a boy - Beyoncé.
If I were a boy is also a pop song. The meaning behind the lyrics of the song is that if Beyoncé were a boy, she would be able to get away with cheating. The target audience would be those who have been cheated on perhaps but also teenage girls mostly as they’re the typical fans of Beyoncé. The camera angles are usually all at eye level but the range of the shots range from close ups and possibly extreme close ups to long shots. The song reached number three on the top 100 charts.

Beyoncé's "If I Were A Boy" attracts and represents her target audience (15-30 year old, B - E class gay men and African-American women) because of the lyrics. The diegetic lyrics "How it feels to love a girl" represents the target audience as it confirms Mulvey's theory that women are "erotic objects of desire for males" (Mulvey 1975) which would make the females feel more powerful and desirable and overall better about themselves.
"Drink beer with the guys" also helps the target audience of females feel better about themselves as they feel better morally than men as Gauntlett argues that men are stereotypically "alpha males who control the action with violence," (Gauntlett 2002) even if there is no violence or action, they're still in control and can supposedly get away with cheating, this helps with the female's personal image as they feel like it's not their fault if they're cheated on.
The non-diegetic music is quite slow, simple and little instrument playing which would attract the target audience who like that specific style and tempo.
