On 9th of feb 2014 at 7:27pm in Dancing On Ice, ITV broadcast a world first, an ad break made entirely out of LEGO. This had never been done before and so it was a new and unique way of advertising the movie, anyone who has a respect and interest in movies or advertising would be drawn in to the lego movie by this impressive advertisement style.
The first advert is a remake of the British Heart Foundation advert staring Vinnie Jones in which they describe the new way of performing resuscitation. The primary target audience would be males of working or middle class who enjoy football and violence, They'd be drawn to this advert as Vinnie Jones was a footballer who was known for his violence and so became an actor who typically played as gangsters, seeing a character of him in LEGO would attract this particular audience to the Lego Movie. The second primary audience is that of kind mothers who donate to charities such as the British Heart Foundation, seeing an advert for a charity in LEGO would cause the mother's to accept the morals of the Lego Movie and think their children would learn right and wrong from the movie.
The second advert is a Confused.com advert with the primary target audience of Young adults with cars. The teenagers in this advert would attract the young adults as they would relate to them, seeing the advert made in LEGO would give them nostalgia from when they were children and convince them to watch the movie.
The third advert is the BT Infinity advert which contains a young couple struggling with their slow internet. The primary target audience would be university students who want a faster internet as technology and internet appeals more to young people, after seeing this LEGO advert they'd be drawn to watch the movie after seeing the animation of the LEGO characters and understanding the struggle it must have taken to make it. The secondary target audience would be parents who are looking for a faster internet, these parents will see the advert and think of their children and so would decide to watch it with their children.
the fourth advert is a Premier Inn advert which stars Lenny Henry. The primary target audience for this advert would be fans of Lenny Henry and also those who are looking for a place to say after travelling. It could also be argued that the primary target audience would be people who travel often and are often in need of places to stay, seeing this character in LEGO would be quite comedic for the audience and may attract them to watch the movie.
