The Conjuring 2

The scene starts with the diegetic sound of thunder and lightning and a close up of a TV the turns into static. This creates tension and suspense because connotes there is a power cut or a paranormal intervention. The next shot is a close up the girl hitting the TV as it turns off and then CGI is used to show the reflection of an old man sitting in the chair behind her as a diegetic groan can be heard to add more effect to the jumpscare. The next shot is a swish pan to a medium shot of the room with a non-diegetic creepy ‘swoosh’ sound and special effects to make the TV remote float in the air for a moment before falling to the ground. The camera tilts down on the TV remote and zooms in a little, as a non-diegetic eerie, high pitch sound plays to add suspense as you don’t know where the ghost is anymore. The next shot has two sounds, a creepy non-diegetic high pitch sound and the diegetic sound of her heavy breathing. The camera zooms in on the girl close up and then cuts to the medium close up on the remote, zooms in onto the remote and then cuts to the close up of the girl, it zooms in on the girl again and then cuts to a medium shot of the chair, zooming in on the chair and then it cuts back to the close up of the girl again to create suspense just waiting for a jumpscare and then the old man is suddenly behind her and shouts “my house!!” at which point it cuts to a medium shot of the girl jumping and screaming and turning around, then it cuts to a medium shot of the TV where the man is gone and the TV turns back on by itself.
